History

The original idea came from JP who suggested we really should be doing a pub quiz, but take it to the extreme. The first attempt at a pub quiz was in January 2010 for Returners' Week. Hosted by Hitch, the quiz was a huge success as it pitched members against each other, and was mostly in house so to speak - with many of those taking part already entwined with other Fresh Air Members.

Following the success of this, Fresh Air planned to do a Mega Pub Quiz for Freshers' Week of that same year, with as much madness and bizarreness as had made the last so successful.

Controversy

Often the pub quiz is riddled with sub-games and other challenges to make. However, with planning required for at least 30 teams these challenges become difficult to write for each individual team, and so ideas are stretched, and very occasionally the limited quality control means some ideas don't get as much scrutiny as need be.

We did a Hitler salute challenge and it did not go down well.
