Twist and Shout is a monthly club night put on by the station at which the station's retromaniacs blast sweet 50s and 60s pop tunes into your lovely heads. The night has been a Fresh Air night since at least 2007 (exact start date unknown) at Medina.

Re-birth
On November the 5th (Bonfire Night) 2008, Fresh Air witnessed the rebirth of Twist and Shout and a sharp spike in popularity. With the introduction of a new live band, The Biscuit Factory, cheap door fares and word of mouth starting to build, Twist & Shout became a consistent sell-out club night. Since the 'rebirth' a Twist and Shout is more often than not a sell out with one-in-one-out door policies commencing from midnight. With the introduction of £1.50 on all drinks in 2010, the popularity of the night was sealed in the heart of the Edinburgh club scene.
Live Bands
2008-2010: The Biscuit Factory, featuring Fresh Air Committee member Jason Bond. 2010-?:Le Salon du Jazz Refuse - a 9 piece Edinburgh undergraduate Jazz/funk ensemble featuring Fresh Air favourite and Head of Technical, Mr. John "JY" Youngs, have played several of the nights for Twist and Shout over the past two years.
If you're in a band with a certain 50's and 60's flair, please message us to get involved. [events@freshair.org.uk]
